A New Calibre For The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph 38mm

Audemars Piguet has unveiled a new calibre for the Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 38mm, enhancing its iconic design with a brand new in-house movement, the calibre 6401. This movement, developed over five years, replaces the previous AP Calibre 2385 and features a longer power reserve of 55 hours and a frequency of 4Hz. The new chronograph retains the visual identity of earlier editions but incorporates design updates such as a sapphire crystal caseback to view the intricate movement and a repositioned date window for a more symmetrical appearance. The updated chronograph is available in stainless steel and two pink gold variants, with prices ranging from CHF 34,000 to CHF 72,400, depending on the model. The refined dials feature a “Grande Tapisserie” pattern and redesigned counters, while the integrated bracelet adds to the luxurious feel of the timepiece. The introduction of the calibre 6401 signifies a commitment to innovation and quality, ensuring that the Royal Oak remains a standout in the luxury watch market.
