A Technical Perspective: Sellita Introduces The SW200-2 Power+
Sellita has launched the SW200-2 Power+, an upgraded version of its widely used automatic movement, the SW200-1. While maintaining the same dimensions and overall design as its predecessor for compatibility, the SW200-2 Power+ introduces significant mechanical improvements. These include a new gear train with optimized tooth geometry, a redesigned barrel for enhanced energy storage, and an improved automatic winding system that boosts the power reserve to 65 hours. Additionally, it features a new regulating organ that retains a frequency of 4 Hz, crucial for precision and stability, alongside enhanced shock protection and reworked brass components for increased durability. The SW200-2 Power+ aims to evolve the proven SW200 without sacrificing its core strengths such as serviceability and compatibility. Most components are not interchangeable with the previous model, except for the date mechanism and keyless work, thereby setting a new technical standard for one of the most widely utilized calibres in contemporary Swiss watchmaking. This strategic upgrade reflects Sellita's commitment to improving efficiency and stability while preserving the legacy of the SW200.
