A Visit To The De Rijke & Co. Atelier, Where The New Capri Was Crafted
De Rijke & Co. has introduced its first dress watch, the Capri, designed by founder Laurens de Rijke. This watch features a rectangular stainless steel case measuring 28.5mm by 38mm, with a thin profile of only 6.5mm. The Capri is available in three dial options: black onyx, black aventurine glass, and Capri Blue, with unique design elements such as skeletonized hands. The watch is powered by a hand-wound La Joux-Perret D100 caliber movement, though plans are in place for a custom rectangular movement in the future. The creation of the Capri showcases Laurens's hands-on approach to watchmaking, with extensive involvement in both prototyping and production phases. His atelier in Dordrecht is filled with machines and prototypes, reflecting his commitment to crafting unique pieces. Priced at €2,195 excluding taxes, the Capri is currently available for pre-order and will be shipped in April/May 2026, embodying a blend of functionality and distinctive design.
