Alpina Startimer Pilot Automatic: A Modern Update for 2026
Alpina has refreshed its Startimer Pilot Automatic collection to mark 15 years of its modern lineup, introducing redesigned cases and dials with applied solid lumed indices. The new series includes four models: a PVD black version with beige lume and three stainless steel variants featuring black, blue, or khaki green dials. The prices are set at $1,795 for the steel models and $1,895 for the PVD black model. The updates enhance the watch’s aesthetics and functionality, including a thinner case design and improved legibility in low light. The new Startimer Pilot models boast a three-part stainless steel case that measures 40mm in diameter and is water-resistant up to 100 meters. The dials maintain the classic look with Arabic numerals and a pilot's triangle at 12 o'clock, while the solid luminescent indices offer better visibility in the dark. Powered by the calibre AL-525, which operates at 28,800 bph and has a 68-hour power reserve, these watches represent a significant upgrade from previous iterations. They are set to be available in Summer/Fall 2026, catering to both collectors and enthusiasts of aviation-inspired timepieces.
Buying Time Analysis: The update to the Alpina Startimer Pilot Automatic collection not only celebrates 15 years of modern watchmaking but also showcases significant enhancements in design and functionality, appealing to both aviation enthusiasts and collectors, while offering competitive pricing in a growing luxury watch market.
