Alto Explores Time Through the Art of Patination and Sculpture with the Limited Edition Art 01 by Bernar Venet
Alto's latest release, the Art 01 Bernar Venet, represents a unique collaboration between the luxury watch brand and renowned French artist Bernar Venet. This limited edition timepiece, with only ten pieces available, showcases a striking bronze case that evolves in color and patina over time, echoing the artist's iconic Corten steel sculptures. The watch features a sculptural dial with flowing arcs, deviating from Alto's previous geometric designs, and incorporates a second hand that runs backward, prompting wearers to rethink their perception of time. The movement, designed by Barth Nussbaumer, operates at 4Hz and offers a 48-hour power reserve, all while maintaining a water resistance of 50 meters. The watch is presented on a Nubuck calf leather strap with a titanium folding buckle, treated to match the patinated bronze case. Although the exact price has not been disclosed, it is expected to exceed the previous models' pricing, reflecting its artistic significance and the innovative materials used. Each of the ten watches will develop its own unique story, much like Venet's large-scale installations.
