Audemars Piguet Opens New Le Brassus Manufacture
Audemars Piguet has inaugurated the Manufacture du Brassus, a significant new production facility in Le Brassus, Switzerland, coinciding with the brand's 150th anniversary celebrations. This 23,700-square-meter site, known as the Arc, consolidates previously dispersed production teams within the Vallée de Joux and features a unique 321-meter-long curved façade designed to foster collaboration and flexibility. It can accommodate up to 700 employees in open workspaces filled with natural light, alongside quiet areas and traditional offices. The facility incorporates advanced technologies, such as electrochromic glass that adjusts to light and heat, enhancing comfort while maintaining views of the surrounding landscape. The project aligns with Industry 4.0 principles, focusing on smart technology and automation to streamline workflows and enhance communication among teams. A state-of-the-art storage system, operated by 66 robots, optimizes stock management by delivering components directly to workshops. Sustainability is a key component, with the building achieving Minergie-ECO® certification and utilizing renewable energy sources, including heat recovery systems and photovoltaic panels. Additionally, features like a green roof promote local biodiversity, while the site's accessibility by public transport and provisions for electric vehicle charging support the community's environmental goals.
