Audemars Piguet Unveils an Innovative Setting Device For its RO Perpetual

Audemars Piguet has introduced an innovative setting device for its Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar during Dubai Watch Week 2025. This device aims to simplify the adjustment process for automatic perpetual calendars, which are known for their complex mechanisms that adjust the date and other functions based on the calendar year. The new calibre 7138, integrated into the 41mm model, features user-friendly adjustments via an all-in-one crown, eliminating the need for specialized correction tools. This advancement is the result of a collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, which also led to the development of a unique winding and setting box. The winding box utilizes robotics and AI to automate the setting process. When a perpetual calendar is placed inside the closed box, a camera identifies the necessary adjustments and completes them within five minutes, mimicking the manual adjustments traditionally made by users. This cutting-edge solution underscores Audemars Piguet's commitment to enhancing user experience and reflects their vision for the future of watchmaking, combining mechanical engineering with modern technology.
