Baume & Mercier Gives Its Clifton Baumatic an Icy Blue Makeover
The Wren Diver One Abyss builds on the brand’s 41 mm Diver One platform, featuring a striking Musou Black sandwich dial that absorbs 99.4 % of visible light, allowing aqua hour markers and indices to appear suspended above an almost pitch‑black surface. The watch combines 200 metres of water resistance, a clear DLC‑coated stainless‑steel case and bracelet, a fully lumed ceramic bezel, and the reliable Sellita SW200 automatic movement with a 38‑hour power reserve. Its design incorporates a flat‑link steel bracelet and an optional black FKM rubber strap, both enhancing the dramatic contrast between the dark dial and the vivid aqua accents. Limited to 100 individually numbered pieces, the Abyss is priced at US$1,195 (including VAT) and will be available for preorder at Time+Tide Studios in New York and London starting 24 August 2026. The watch’s unique dial treatment, combined with matching lume colors and a solid caseback, creates a visual experience that feels like looking into an endless depth, reinforcing Wren’s reputation for innovative dive‑watch concepts.
Buying Time Analysis: The story highlights Wren’s innovative use of Musou Black technology to create a visually striking, limited‑edition dive watch, underscoring the brand’s commitment to pushing design boundaries and offering collectors a uniquely dramatic timepiece.
