Biver charts new territory with flagship automotique line
Jean-Claude Biver and his son Pierre have launched a new watch brand that redefines high-end Swiss watchmaking with their flagship Automatique collection. After a successful career leading TAG and Hublot, Biver's new venture emphasizes innovative craftsmanship and the use of natural materials. The Automatique line, introduced in September 2024, focuses on a minimalist aesthetic while incorporating traditional watchmaking techniques such as guilloché and enameling. Recent variations showcase a blend of hard stones and innovative metalworking, aimed at establishing a distinct brand identity. The collection is powered by the Caliber JCB-003 movement, developed in collaboration with Dubois Depraz, featuring a solid 22k gold micro-rotor and a 65-hour power reserve. This movement emphasizes both technical precision and aesthetic appeal, with design elements that coordinate with the watch cases. As the brand evolves, it seeks to refine its design language through continuous creation, allowing each new watch to build on its heritage while pushing creative boundaries.
