Breitling UK sales drop 24% in tough trading environment
Breitling's sales in the UK have fallen by 24.1% to £58 million ($77 million) during the 2024-25 financial year, reflecting a challenging retail environment and economic backdrop. Despite the brand's efforts to expand its retail presence with 26 monobrand boutiques and 75 authorized multibrand retailers, the decline is concerning as it follows a post-pandemic sales spike in 2022. Operating profit also saw a significant drop of 24.6% to £2.3 million ($3 million), with the operating margin holding steady at 4%. The competitive landscape has intensified, with rival brands such as LVMH experiencing a 28% sales decline, while Rolex and Patek Philippe reported increases. Although the overall watch market in the UK has shown some resilience with a 4% increase in sales value during the first nine months of 2025, there was a year-on-year decline of 3% in the latest quarter. Breitling acknowledges these difficulties and aims to mitigate risks by focusing on high-quality products and strong customer service.
