Cartier Privé Tortue Monopoussoir: A Platinum Edition with a Classic CPCP-Inspired Dial
Cartier has unveiled a new interpretation of the Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph, featuring a platinum edition with a dial inspired by the CPCP models from the late 1990s and early 2000s. This timepiece retains the elegant beaded hour markers and oversized Roman numeral XII, which have become defining characteristics of the Tortue series. The platinum case measures 34.8mm wide and 43.7mm long, housing the Cartier calibre 1928 MC, a hand-wound monopusher chronograph movement, currently the brand's thinnest chronograph calibre. The dial is designed with a silvered opaline finish, complemented by rhodium-finished beaded hour markers and a traditional railroad minute track in burgundy. With a water resistance of 30 meters and a comfortable fit thanks to its curved profile, the watch is presented on a semi-matt burgundy alligator leather strap. While official pricing is pending, it is anticipated to retail around EUR 55,000, aligning with previous platinum editions of the model.
