Nava Krishnan, a former corporate hacker turned horologist, has launched Ardra Labs and introduced his first watch, The Delta Type, specifically designed for Indian travelers. This innovative timepiece addresses the issue of GMT watches not accommodating India’s unique 10.5-hour offset from Eastern Standard Time, making it particularly useful for the large population of expatriates with family back home. The Delta Type features a patented module that allows the display of time in regions with 30- or 45-minute offsets, expanding its functionality beyond standard GMT watches. Unveiled at Mumbai Watch Week, the Delta Type incorporates Sellita’s SW-330 automatic GMT movement and showcases Indian architectural influences in its design. Priced at $2,450 and limited to a production run of 300, the watch comes in a 39mm steel case, is water-resistant to 100 meters, and features a 24-hour bi-directional bezel. With its blend of technical innovation and cultural inspiration, The Delta Type aims to capture a significant market among the 35 million Indians living abroad.
