Everything You Need to Know About this Year's Vortic Military Edition Releases
Next week, Veterans Day marks an important occasion for Vortic, a Colorado-based watch brand known for repurposing vintage pocket watch movements into wristwatches. This year, the brand will launch its Military Edition, featuring watches sourced from military-commissioned timepieces. Notably, three distinct options will be available, including the first-ever Vortic watches utilizing vintage Swiss movements. The Military Edition watches are derived from the AN5740-1 pocket watch, designed for the Army Air Corps during World War II, and they emphasize legibility and reliability through their high-contrast 24-hour dials and railroad-grade movements. These watches are cased in titanium, combining contemporary aesthetics with historical design. Additionally, Vortic is offering two unique versions of the Military Watch this year. The “Specials” feature hand-painted luminous dials, with only ten available, retailing for $10,000. Furthermore, five St-Imier Special Edition watches, made with Longines movements from World War II, will also be released, priced at $15,000. These editions showcase Vortic’s dedication to creating exceptional timepieces while also commemorating military history. The watches will go on sale on November 11 at 11:00 AM mountain time, providing an opportunity to support the brand during a challenging year for its founder.
