Farer Introduces Stratton II with Realistic Moonphase
Farer’s Stratton Moonphase line, first introduced in 2023, returns with the Stratton II, a limited‑edition update that refines the watch’s iconic moonphase display. The new edition replaces the original hand‑painted moon with a photorealistic disc created by Swiss specialist AJS Production using laser micro‑etching, multiple layers of paint and Super‑LumiNova, resulting in a moon that looks convincingly like a real lunar surface while remaining under 6 mm in diameter. The dial retains its black Eisenkiesel stone base, lumicast markers, and gold‑toned accents, and the case has been modestly enlarged to 39 mm × 11.8 mm with a slightly longer lug‑to‑lug measurement, preserving the original’s water resistance of 50 m and a 20 mm lug width for interchangeable straps. Powered by an Elaboré‑grade Sellita SW288‑1 hand‑wound movement, the Stratton II offers a 45‑hour power reserve, 28 800 vph frequency, and the usual moonphase, date and hacking seconds functions. It is priced at £1,895 (≈ $2,175), a £70 increase over the original, reflecting the upgraded moon disc while keeping the rest of the specifications, dial material and strap options unchanged. A limited run of 100 pieces is available for pre‑order, with the first batch shipping from 21 December and additional batches planned for 2027.
Buying Time Analysis: The launch of the Farer Stratton II showcases a significant advancement in watchmaking by introducing a photorealistic moonphase disc, highlighting Farer’s commitment to innovation and craftsmanship, which sets a new benchmark for luxury timepieces.
