Fortis Introduces First-ever DLC-coated Stratoliner watch
Fortis has launched its first-ever DLC-coated Stratoliner watch, the S-41 Gravity Black, which combines stealthy design with space-tested performance. Made from recycled stainless steel, the watch features a matte graphite diamond-like carbon coating that enhances surface hardness to 4,500 Vickers, making it nearly 20 times harder than standard steel. The 41mm case includes a smoked sapphire caseback and anti-reflective crystal, while the in-house Werk 17 chronograph, developed in collaboration with the Swedish Space Corporation, ensures COSC-level accuracy and a 60-hour power reserve. Additionally, the watch boasts a stardust-textured dial, Super-LumiNova X1 for visibility, and a hybrid strap made from FKM rubber and high-resistance textile, all secured with a durable DLC-coated pin buckle. Priced at $4,950, it is a robust timepiece designed for various environments, including underwater with a 200-meter water resistance.
