This remarkable sale marks the watch as the most expensive sold in 2025 and establishes it as the most valuable wristwatch from an independent watchmaker ever auctioned. The bidding process was intense, with competitive offers primarily from phone bidders, culminating in a head-to-head between two key bidders that pushed the final price well beyond initial estimates. The auction's success was further amplified by the celebrity association with Coppola, which drew significant media attention and heightened the watch's profile beyond the usual watch auction circles. In addition to the FFC, Coppola's Chronomètre à Résonance also performed exceptionally well, fetching US$584,000, more than double its high estimate.
