Francis Ford Coppola’s One-of-One F.P. Journe Watch Could Fetch $1 Million
Francis Ford Coppola's unique F.P. Journe watch, known as the FCC Prototype, is set to be auctioned and could fetch over $1 million. This remarkable timepiece, created from a collaboration between Coppola and watchmaker François-Paul Journe, features a human hand mechanism to indicate time, making it the first of its kind. The concept originated in 2012 during a meeting at Coppola's Napa Valley winery, where he posed the idea of using a human hand for timekeeping. After years of development and collaboration, the watch was completed in 2021 and is now considered one of the most historically significant F.P. Journe pieces ever made, reflecting exceptional artistry and technical innovation. The auction will also include several other valuable watches from Coppola's collection, taking place in December.
