The M.A.D.Gallery, celebrating its 15th anniversary, has evolved into a network of spaces dedicated to mechanical art, bridging the gap between traditional watch displays and art galleries. To commemorate this milestone, MB&F has commissioned several artists, including Frank Buchwald, to create limited edition pieces. Buchwald's ML15 Helios, limited to just 15 pieces, embodies a mechanical sun with a spherical lamp at its center, evoking the imagery of a solar corona and featuring an anthropomorphic design that suggests it might be observing its surroundings. Handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, each ML15 Helios lamp takes weeks to complete, showcasing the refinement and artistry that distinguish it from mass-produced items. With dimensions of 350 mm x 440 mm x 460 mm and a weight of 9 kg, this exquisite piece combines stainless steel and brass elements. Priced at CHF 12,000 (approximately USD 15,500), the lamp captures the essence of the M.A.D.Gallery's mission since 2011: providing a home for mechanical creations that challenge conventional categorization.
