Girard-Perregaux Pays Tribute to the Year of the Horse with a Special La Esmeralda Tourbillon
Girard-Perregaux has unveiled the La Esmeralda Tourbillon “A Secret” Eternity Edition, a luxurious tribute to the Year of the Horse, featuring only 18 limited pieces. This exquisite timepiece combines traditional Chinese aesthetics with high-end watchmaking. The 43mm 18k pink gold case is beautifully hand-engraved and adorned with red grand feu enamel, while the unique design draws inspiration from the historic Esmeralda pocket watch. Notably, it includes a secret cover that reveals a meticulously decorated movement, showcasing two hand-engraved gold horses on its signature three-bridge architecture. The watch is powered by the in-house Calibre GP09600, an automatic movement that operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and boasts a 50-hour power reserve. The tourbillon, positioned at 6 o’clock, rotates within a beautifully crafted cage, and time is indicated by pink gold hands along with a blued steel seconds hand. Accompanied by a red alligator leather strap and priced at EUR 483,000, this edition not only reflects exceptional craftsmanship but also marks a significant celebration of cultural heritage through horological art.
