Greubel Forsey fires Stephen Forsey over strategy row
Greubel Forsey has recently terminated co-founder Stephen Forsey amidst significant strategic disagreements. In a public statement, Stephen expressed his disappointment over being ousted by the new management after dedicating over 25 years to the company. He has resigned from various boards but retains his shareholding. The watchmaker, which became fully independent in 2022, has undergone multiple leadership changes and strategic shifts that seem to conflict with Stephen Forsey's vision. Following the departure of CEO Antonio Calce, who had ambitious plans for the brand, including halving the average price point and increasing production, the company now faces uncertainty. Michel Nydegger has since taken over, but indications suggest that the previously proposed plans are no longer in motion. Despite rumors about the potential sale of the company, Nydegger confirmed that there are currently no discussions regarding selling the business or seeking new investments.
