Hands-On: Tutima Goes Titanium With Its Patria 6612 Watches
Tutima, a historic German watch brand known for its military and aviation timepieces, is making a significant shift with the introduction of the Patria 6612 collection. The new management acknowledges past mistakes and aims to re-establish the brand by focusing on practical products that align with the expectations of watch enthusiasts. The Patria 6612 features a reduced case size of 41mm made from polished grade five titanium, making it more wearable compared to its predecessor, while still offering water resistance and a sapphire crystal. The collection comes in three shades of gray, emphasizing a minimalist aesthetic. The Patria 6612 is powered by Tutima’s in-house caliber 617 manually-wound movement, recognized for its traditional German craftsmanship and solid performance with a 65-hour power reserve. The design includes stick hour markers and classic hands, ensuring legibility while maximizing the subsidiary second dial's size. With a price of €8,600 EUR, the new collection aims to attract consumers seeking a blend of elegance and comfort, with soft sheepskin leather straps enhancing the overall experience. The reimagined branding strategy, which incorporates the Glashütte label, reflects an understanding of market demand while inviting feedback on this new direction.
