Horological Society of New York Secures $1.2 Million to Advance the Craft of Watchmaking
The Horological Society of New York (HSNY) celebrated its 160th anniversary by raising a record $1.2 million at its annual gala, attended by over 500 members of the watchmaking community. The event, held at the Plaza Hotel, featured a live charity auction that contributed significantly to the fundraising efforts, including the sale of a signed F.P. Journe clock for $200,000 and a unique wristwatch by Romain Gauthier for $130,000. HSNY announced that it would allocate $450,000 in financial aid to support its mission of advancing horology, marking a substantial increase in funding for scholarships and watchmaking schools. During the gala, François-Paul Journe received the prestigious Howard Fass Award for Lifetime Achievement, honoring his contributions to the field of horology.
