Inside Vacheron Constantin's Concours d'Élégance Horlogère Competition
Vacheron Constantin is launching a global watch competition, the Concours d’Élégance Horlogère, inviting collectors and enthusiasts to showcase their prized timepieces from the brand. The competition, organized in partnership with Phillips and Bacs & Russo, aims to highlight both historical and contemporary pieces of haute horlogerie, with submissions accepted for watches launched between 1755 and 1999, excluding quartz and heavily modified pieces. Seven categories will award timepieces based on specific criteria, including chiming mechanisms, chronographs, astronomical complications, and design. The evaluation will be conducted by a diverse jury of experts, including watch historians and industry leaders. Submissions will open on January 19 and remain open until April 30, with winners announced on November 10 during Phillips and Bacs & Russo’s fall auctions. Participants are encouraged to choose their categories wisely, as each watch can only be considered for one. The competition seeks to foster inspiring discoveries and scholarly discussions in fine watchmaking.
