Kari Voutilainen steps down as Urban Jürgensen CEO
Kari Voutilainen has stepped down as co-CEO of Urban Jürgensen after four years, transitioning to the roles of Board Member and Senior Strategic Advisor. In this new capacity, he will focus on guiding the brand's long-term strategy and advising on product development, while stepping away from daily operations to devote more time to his watch design work. Alex Rosenfield, who previously shared the CEO role with Voutilainen, has been appointed as the new chief executive officer, tasked with leading the company in developing new collections and enhancing its presence in the luxury watch market. Additionally, Venla Voutilainen, Kari's daughter and former COO, will also depart the company to collaborate more closely with her father. Executive chairman Andrew Rosenfield acknowledged the contributions of all involved, particularly highlighting Voutilainen's role in designing recent models, including the award-winning UJ-2. Both Voutilainen and Rosenfield expressed excitement for the future, emphasizing a commitment to continuing the legacy of Urban Jürgensen and introducing new creations from both Kari and other notable figures in independent watchmaking.
