Konstantin Chaykin’s Venus is Arty and Naughty
Konstantin Chaykin’s new watch, Venus, is inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus and presents a unique twist on the brand’s signature Wristmon concept. This limited edition, featuring only 99 pieces, showcases the goddess Venus emerging from the sea, utilizing rotating discs to indicate time instead of traditional hands. The prototype will be auctioned on December 11, with proceeds benefiting an Italian charity focused on breast cancer prevention. The design emphasizes elegance with a graceful case, a single crown for operation, and a dial adorned with a copper-toned guilloche pattern representing Venus's hair. The Venus watch measures 40 mm in diameter and 12.9 mm in height, constructed from stainless steel with a sapphire crystal, and offers water resistance up to 30 meters. It operates on the La Joux-Perret G200 automatic movement, featuring a power reserve of 68 hours. With its refined aesthetics and engaging theme, the Venus not only fits within a historical context of erotic watches but also marks a clever evolution in Chaykin’s design philosophy, appealing to both watch enthusiasts and collectors alike.
