Major changes at the top of Watches of Switzerland Group
Watches of Switzerland Group has made significant changes in its leadership, appointing Jack Gaffaney as the new president for the USA, a position previously held by David Hurley. Gaffaney joins from Prada, where he was responsible for retail operations across several countries in the Americas. This shift comes as the company's growth in the American market has outpaced that of the UK, with USA sales rising 20% in the first half of the 2025-26 financial year, compared to the UK's more modest growth. The restructuring reflects the increasing importance of the US market for Watches of Switzerland Group, which generated £653 million in sales during the 2022-23 financial year. The rise in American sales has been bolstered by the acquisition of Roberto Coin's wholesale business, while the UK market faces challenges from economic and political uncertainties. David Hurley, who has been pivotal in the company's North American operations, remains in New York, continuing to influence the group's strategy in a rapidly changing luxury watch landscape.
