New 2026 Rolex Datejust Dials: Beyond the Green Ombré
The 2026 Rolex Datejust collection received a substantial refresh, highlighted by the introduction of a striking green ombré dial available across multiple case sizes, materials, and bracelet options. While the 41 mm model was prominently displayed at Watches and Wonders Geneva, the new dial also appears on eight different references, including 36 mm versions and various combinations of Oyster and Jubilee bracelets, as well as smooth or fluted bezels. The ombré effect is achieved through lacquered layers, with green base lacquer and a black gradient applied by concentric spraying, delivering a subtle yet dynamic visual finish that modernizes the classic Datejust aesthetic. In addition to the green ombré, Rolex unveiled an extensive overhaul of its Roman numeral dials, updating more than 100 references across the Datejust range. The redesign features sharper, sans‑serif numerals composed of separate elements, a flat angular style, and thicker profiles, while also unifying the minute track into a continuous railroad‑style element. A broader palette of dial colours—including mint, olive, dark grey, aubergine, pink, and more—has been introduced, with some versions offering diamond‑set numerals. Together, these changes deliver a fresher, more contemporary look for the Datejust while preserving its timeless appeal.
