No frills F. Hinds grows faster than luxury peers
F. Hinds, a well-established jewelry and watch retailer in the UK, has demonstrated remarkable growth in a challenging economic environment, with sales increasing by 4% to £86.3 million for the fiscal year ending March 30, 2025. This performance starkly contrasts with the 2% growth reported by the luxury brand Watches of Switzerland Group, highlighting the impact of Britain's tourist tax on the high-end market. Additionally, F. Hinds saw a 7% rise in operating profit, reaching £8.1 million, indicating the brand's resilience and appeal in the mass market segment. Currently operated by the sixth generation of the Hinds family, the company boasts 118 stores across the UK and offers a diverse watch portfolio featuring nearly 50 brands, including popular names like Accurist, Bulova, and Seiko. The success of F. Hinds amidst the struggles facing luxury retailers underscores a shifting trend in consumer behavior, favoring more accessible options even during economic uncertainty.
