Omega Launches The Fourth Generation Seamaster 'Planet Ocean"
Omega has unveiled the fourth generation of its Seamaster Planet Ocean collection, marking a significant revamp on the line's 20th anniversary. This new iteration features a completely redesigned case, an updated movement for the core models, and a new bracelet. The cases are now more angular, measuring 42mm in diameter and a significantly thinner 13.79mm, with a 47.5mm lug-to-lug distance. They are constructed from two-piece stainless steel with a titanium inner ring and capped with matte black dials displaying reworked, bolder Arabic numerals in white, matte orange, or rhodium plating, which are coordinated with the ceramic bezels. Notably, the manual helium release valve has been removed, contributing to the sleeker profile, and the titanium caseback replaces the previous display for improved thinness and water resistance. The watches maintain a 600m water resistance and are powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912, an automatic movement offering a 60-hour power reserve, featuring a Silicon "Si14" balance spring and a Co-Axial Escapement. Aesthetic enhancements include a more angular case with sharp edges, polished chamfers, and a pronounced crown guard. The redesigned flat link bracelet tapers to 16.5mm, appears nearly integrated into the case, and offers six positions of adjustment along with an extra diver extension. Pricing for these non-limited models ranges from $8,600 on a rubber strap for black and blue versions to $9,500 on a bracelet for the orange model, with immediate availability.
