RZE Launches UTD-8080 with First In-House Digital Module

RZE has introduced the UTD‑8080, the first watch to feature an in‑house‑developed digital module for its UltraHex Titanium Digital platform. The new RZE‑8080 module adds dual time, multi‑alarm, countdown timer, a 1/100‑second stopwatch, an auto‑calendar through 2099 and an UltraGlow backlight, all displayed on a higher‑contrast FSTN LCD screen. Existing UTD‑8000 owners can upgrade to the new module for US$100, extending the life of their titanium cases while gaining the added functionality. The upgrade will be available through service centers in Canada, the US, the UK and Singapore starting January 2027, with return shipping included. The launch model, the UTD‑8080‑ST, features a white Cerakote‑treated case and a “Stormtrooper” colorway, priced at US$399 with delivery in November 2026. Additional UltraHex titanium versions will follow at US$299, arriving in March 2027. Powered by a CR2032 battery with an expected life of over three years, the watch offers 200 m water resistance, a sapphire crystal with Super AR coating, and a lightweight 51.9‑gram construction. This development gives RZE greater control over future digital watches and opens the platform to other independent and micro‑brand makers.

Buying Time Analysis: The story marks RZE’s pivotal shift to in‑house digital watch technology, unlocking greater control, future upgrades, and broader industry impact through a versatile, upgradeable platform.
