Seiko’s New Dive Watch Borrows a Page from the Brand’s High-End Sibling
Seiko has introduced the new Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver’s Watch Save the Ocean Limited Edition, which draws inspiration from the pristine waters of Okinawa. The watch features a striking "Tranquil Teal" dial with a sunburst finish, complemented by a matte gray bezel insert and white markings. While the dial design is visually appealing, the placement and color of the date window have been noted as less than ideal. The watch also incorporates a new microadjustable clasp, allowing for significant on-the-fly adjustments, enhancing comfort and usability. This limited edition watch is produced in a quantity of 4,000 pieces and is priced at $1,400, representing a modest increase over previous models. It retains the robust specifications common to the 1965 Heritage line, including a 40mm stainless steel case, a water resistance of 300 meters, and the reliable Seiko Cal. 6R55 automatic movement with a three-day power reserve. The combination of aesthetic beauty and functional design positions this watch as a noteworthy addition to Seiko's offerings in the dive watch category.
