Still no arrests following violent daylight raid on Rolex
A violent raid occurred at one of Rolex's largest showrooms in London, where six armed individuals attacked the Bucherer-owned boutique in Knightsbridge. The incident, which took place on January 20, 2026, involved the suspects using a moped to breach security, threatening staff and customers with weapons, and smashing display cases to steal high-value watches. Despite a quick police response, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, with detectives appealing for witnesses to come forward. The Metropolitan Police reported that London has become a hotspot for luxury watch thefts, with over 5,180 high-value watches stolen between 2022 and July 2025. Rolex watches are particularly targeted, accounting for a significant portion of these thefts. In response to the rising crime rates, a dedicated unit of the Flying Squad is working to identify and apprehend organized robbers, emphasizing their commitment to addressing this alarming trend in thefts of luxury items.
