Tad Kozh Award for New Talents in Artistic Crafts
The Tad Kozh initiative aims to promote traditional watchmaking while supporting emerging talents in the industry. Founded by Alix and Baudouin van Es, this Swiss non-profit association introduces the Tad Kozh New Talent Award, inviting individuals aged 18 to 35 with a watchmaking diploma to submit their professional projects. Finalists will undergo practical examinations in Switzerland, with the award package including specialized training and mentorship. Applications are open until July 15, 2026, providing a platform for young artisans to showcase their machining and finishing techniques. In addition to the award, the initiative focuses on creating limited edition watches that highlight artisanal crafts. These collaborations between watch brands and artisans will explore new techniques, resulting in unique pieces that embody a four-handed creative process. Two limited editions are scheduled for 2026, with proceeds from sales funding the New Talent Award. This approach not only delivers artistic craftsmanship but also fosters a sense of responsibility towards nurturing the future of watchmaking.
