The Toka, Finnish Indie Watchmaking Duo Kortela Valta's Next Chapter
Finnish indie watchmakers Roope Kortela and Rene Valta unveil their latest creation, the Toka, which builds on their previous work, the Eka. This limited edition watch features a Grand Feu enamel dial and is powered by a vintage Omega Calibre 266 movement, enhanced with more hand-finished components compared to its predecessor. Notable upgrades include an in-house developed free-sprung balance wheel and a beautifully designed movement held by a German silver balance bridge. The meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful design reflect their growing expertise in the field. The Toka, with only 12 pieces available, showcases a blend of refinements in both its mechanical and aesthetic aspects. The black or blue champlevé enamel dials are crafted to honor the Finnish seasons and are paired with a stainless steel case, offering a comfortable wear experience. Priced at EUR 25,500 excluding VAT, the Toka comes with a black ostrich leather strap and is open for pre-order, with deliveries expected later in the year.
