Ulysse Nardin And URWERK Create The UR-FREAK Watch
The collaboration between Ulysse Nardin and URWERK has resulted in the creation of the UR-FREAK watch, which marks Ulysse Nardin's first partnership with another watchmaker. The UR-FREAK combines the innovative features of the Ulysse Nardin Freak series, known for its rejection of traditional watchmaking norms, with URWERK's unique design elements. The watch features a striking dial display that merges Ulysse Nardin's carrousel-style regulation system with URWERK’s wandering satellite hour display. The movement, caliber UN-241, boasts silicon components and a sophisticated automatic winding system, highlighting the technological advancements both brands bring to the table. Encased in a 44mm sandblasted titanium case, the UR-FREAK showcases a design that harmoniously blends aesthetics from both brands. While the bezel operates the time adjustment mechanism, it suffers from a slight asymmetry in its markings. With a modest water resistance of 30 meters, this limited edition watch is paired with both a vibrant yellow rubber strap and a more traditional black one. Priced at $122,200 USD and limited to just 100 pieces, the UR-FREAK exemplifies an exciting fusion of innovative technology and creative design, suggesting that more collaborations of this nature may be on the horizon for Ulysse Nardin.
