Urwerk Introduces the UR-300 Time Quantum Display
Urwerk’s UR‑300 Time Quantum introduces a radical display architecture in which the hour indication reconfigures itself every hour. The watch features a T‑shaped frame with two linear hour modules, each carrying three‑sided rotating prisms that travel along a 108‑degree minutes scale. When the minute track is completed, the frame jumps forward, rotates 72 degrees, and the prisms shift to present the next hour, creating a seamless transition between states. Powered by the automatic UR‑30.01V calibre with Dual Flow Turbines, the mechanism balances the energy demands of the jumping display while maintaining a 40‑hour power reserve, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Housed in a Grade 5 titanium case measuring 45.2 mm × 58.8 mm × 18.25 mm, the UR‑300 is water‑resistant to 30 m and offered in two limited editions—Titan and AlTiN—each limited to 25 pieces. The watch’s intricate components are crafted from materials such as beryllium copper, brass, anodised aluminium, titanium, and LIGA‑processed nickel, with finishes including Côtes de Genève and polished screw heads. Priced at CHF 168,000, the UR‑300 Time Quantum showcases Urwerk’s signature blend of avant‑garde aesthetics and complex mechanical engineering.
