Urwerk’s Reimagines Entry-Level UR-100V in Ceramic
Urwerk has unveiled the UR-100V “LightSpeed” in a new ceramic composite that combines fiberglass and carbon fiber, enhancing both its strength and aesthetic appeal. This model continues the brand's tradition of innovative design with features like a wandering hours display and various astronomical-time indicators. The ceramic composite case offers a textured surface that is both hard and lightweight, making it an appealing choice for collectors, all while remaining relatively affordable compared to other Urwerk models. The UR-100V “LightSpeed” maintains the same dimensions and construction as its carbon composite predecessor, featuring a double-layered design with a titanium inner case. It is powered by the UR 12.02 movement, which includes Urwerk's signature "Windfänger" winding mechanism. The intricate dial displays time via orbital satellites and includes indicators for the time it takes for sunlight to reach different planets, reinforcing Urwerk's unique approach to horology. Limited to just 50 pieces, this watch is priced at CHF67,000 excluding taxes and will be available through Urwerk retailers.
