Vacheron Constantin and Phillips Announce 34 Finalists for the Inaugural Watch Elegance Competition
The inaugural Concours D’Élégance Horlogère, a collaboration between Vacheron Constantin and Phillips, has announced 34 finalists from an initial pool of 550 vintage timepieces. The selected watches will compete in seven categories—including chronographs, Métiers d’Art, Chronomètre Royal, astronomical complications, multiple complications, design, and chiming mechanisms—and will be displayed in Geneva from November 4 to 8 before the final awards are presented on November 10. The jury of fourteen experts, featuring notable figures such as Dr. Helmut Crott, Aurel Bacs, and Roberta Naas, evaluated each entry for authenticity, documentation, and condition. Highlights include a 1962 platinum ref. 6448 with an ultra‑thin hand‑wound movement, a 1940 “Don Pancho” minute repeater, and rare triple‑calendar refs. 4764 in both rose gold and platinum, underscoring the depth and diversity of the vintage Vacheron Constantin collection.
