Oris Artelier Date 38mm Redesigned for a Contemporary Look

Oris has refreshed its Artelier Date line with a contemporary 38 mm version that targets a younger audience. Designed by 24‑year‑old product design engineer Lena Huwiler, the new model retains the classic dress‑watch aesthetic while introducing a slimmer 10.9 mm profile, a polished stainless‑steel case, and a domed sapphire crystal. It is available in dark blue, white, and chocolate black dials, each featuring textured central medallions and refined hour markers, and is powered by the in‑house calibre 733 based on the Sellita SW200‑1, offering a 41‑hour power reserve and a reliable automatic movement. The watches can be paired with a dark brown leather strap with a butterfly clasp or a stainless‑steel bracelet with a folding clasp, priced at CHF 1,750 and CHF 1,950 respectively. While the straps are not interchangeable via a quick‑release system, the collection showcases meticulous design details such as a tone‑on‑tone date window at 6 o’clock and luminescent hands. The Artelier Date 38 mm became available in April 2026, expanding Oris’s dress‑watch offerings with a modern, urban character.

Buying Time Analysis: This story highlights Oris’s strategic effort to modernize its classic Artelier Date line, appealing to younger consumers with a contemporary design and showcasing the brand’s commitment to innovation in dress watches.
